« Wychwood Barns est un centre communautaire situé dans le quartier Wychwood de Toronto. Il s’agit d’un espace polyvalent qui était autrefois une installation d’entretien des tramways, mais qui a été transformé en centre communautaire en 2008 par la ville de Toronto et un groupe d’organisations communautaires. La restauration des Wychwood Barns a été réalisée dans un souci de durabilité. Une série d’éléments durables ont été ajoutés, tels qu’un toit vert, un système de collecte des eaux de pluie et un système de chauffage et de refroidissement géothermique. Ces éléments ont permis au bâtiment d’obtenir la certification LEED Gold pour la durabilité environnementale.

Aujourd’hui, Wychwood Barns abrite diverses organisations communautaires, notamment des artistes, des organisations à but non lucratif et des groupes communautaires. Le centre dispose d’une série d’espaces pour les événements, les représentations et les activités communautaires, y compris un espace généreux pour les événements, une cuisine communautaire et une serre. Le centre comprend également des studios d’artistes, un espace de travail et une galerie publique présentant des expositions d’art en rotation.

« Wychwood Barns is a community hub located in Toronto’s Wychwood neighbourhood. It is a multi-use space that was once a streetcar maintenance facility but was transformed into a community hub in 2008 by the City of Toronto and a group of community organizations. The restoration of the Wychwood Barns was done with sustainability in mind. A range of sustainable features was added, such as a green roof, rainwater collection system, and geothermal heating and cooling system. These features helped the building achieve LEED Gold certification for environmental sustainability.

Today, Wychwood Barns is home to various community organizations, including artists, non-profits, and community groups. The hub features a range of spaces for events, performances, and community activities, including a generous event space, a community kitchen, and a greenhouse. The hub also includes artist studios, a workspace, and a public gallery showcasing rotating art exhibitions.
